Rafael Benitez Plans On Leaving Napoli In June

Apr 30, 2015 6:08 PM

Rafael Benitez will leave Napoli at the end of the season even if he's offered a new contract.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed earlier this week that Benitez can remain at the San Paolo "for the next five years" if he wants to.

However, sources said Benitez will quit Napoli when his contract expires in June, putting clubs in the Premier League on alert over his availability.

Benitez's future has been the subject of speculation for some time, but sources say the Spaniard plans to move on even if Napoli win the Europa League as he seeks a new challenge.

PSG, Juventus Agree Upon £58M Transfer Fee For Paul Pogba

May 1, 2015 11:05 AM

Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have agreed upon a £58 million transfer agreement involving Paul Pogba, according to a report.

Pogba has become one of the world's best young midfielders since leaving Manchester United in 2012.

Pogba has yet to agree to the transfer and it is still possible for Manchester City and Chelsea to get involved.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi met with Pogba and his representatives in Monte Carlo earlier this week, though no financial package for the player was agreed.

Al-Khelaifi confirmed on Tuesday he had spoken with Pogba but admitted they would face competition for his signature. He told the French media: “Why did I talk with Pogba? Because he’s a great talent, he’s French, from Paris even. That said all the big clubs want him.”

Juve sporting director Giuseppe Marotta responded following Wednesday night’s game with Fiorentina by saying: “It was an occasional meeting. They spoke about football. We don't want to sell Paul.”

Beckenbauer: Bayern Would Definitely Consider Hiring Jurgen Klopp

Apr 28, 2015 1:08 PM

Franz Beckenbauer has said that Jurgen Klopp would be an option to replace Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich someday.

Guardiola's contract expires after the 15-16 season.

"Of course I could imagine Klopp as Guardiola's successor," Beckenbauer said. "When I was president, we often talked about Klopp and believe he would fit very well at Bayern.

"Klopp is definitely an option at Bayern. The question is, how long Guardiola will be in Munich. I hope for a long time, but Klopp would be considered.

"I can't imagine that Guardiola would leave in 2016. He likes Munich. He has had success with the team and he knows that he can succeed in the future. He has everything he wants."
